2024 SUMMER READING LISTS
We believe readers need choice in their reading lives; therefore, all the boys are being given some choice in their summer reading selections. Each grade or division has different expectations.
Middle School boys are expected to read at least three books during the summer. Grade 5 has a required title, provided to current students before summer break. Your student can choose the other two books. Grade 6 does not have a required title, but students can choose their three books. The only caveat is that the book choices should come from one of our lists-their grade or a level above or below. If your son finds a series on one of the lists that he is enjoying he may read all of his required reading from that series. Further instructions are included on their respective grade pages, and in the Frequently Asked Questions below. Happy reading!

Summer Reading FAQs:
Q: There's this other book that I really want to read, but it's not on the list. Do I need to read a book from the list?
A: We want you to be excited about what you are reading, so if there is something that excites you more than what we've found and it isn't on our list you may read it but please share it with us so we can improve our lists to better reflect your reading style!
Please make sure you check out the lists thorougly, though. You may find a gem you didn't know about!
Q: I've already read a lot of the books on my grade level list. Can I read books from another list?

Q: Can I read a book that's not on the list but is by an author with another book on the list or from a series mentioned on the list?
A: You can read any book from a series mentioned on the list. Many books have a note like: (and other books from this author), or that highlight particular titles from that author. If none of these appeal, see answer to the first question!

A: Absolutely. But remember to check out the rest of the list so you can find a NEW series! Branch out and discover new genres. Three books is just a minimum.
